What Happened in 2015: We were very surprised in February, when our Association asked Michael to be the new General Executive Director. After a considerable amount of prayer, conversations with mentors, and just thinking through what that would look like, Michael agreed to put in his application. Within weeks, the Board appointed Michael as the next GED to take the position in August/September. So...Hong Kong, here we come. But that means leaving our friends and work in Xiamen. The following pages are from our last few weeks of tearful good-byes and last looks around the city we have called 'home' since 2011.
The end of August, we began our new adventure in Hong Kong. By September, we had our work permits and our stuff in Xiamen ready to move to our new apartment. The rest of the year was spent adjusting to office life and getting our stuff settled in our new much smaller apartment.
December 2015: We went back to the US in time for Christmas with Beth and Chris and the rest of my family, then to Urbana Conference and more traveling in early January before flying back to Hong Kong.
Now it's 2016. More about that later!
