Happenings during 2016
January found us celebrating the new year at the Urbana Conference in St. Louis, MO, then traveled around MO to see other friends and make our way back to Ohio to see our son and Michael's parents and friends there. By mid January we were back in the air headed back to our work in Hong Kong.
February -- we spent two weeks in Thailand for our organization's annual conference. That was fun and yet very busy for us as this is Michael's first year leading the organization. But we had a day and a half of real rest before getting back to Hong Kong.
It is with much sadness, yet true joy, to share that my Uncle Joe passed away on May 20, 2016. We all loved him dearly and will be sharing lots of memories and stories, in addition to photos. Here are a few.
I have decided to begin moving my family pages to another site so they don't get lost in all the ones I do for designers.
For my family pages, now see: chinadollphotos.weebly.com/
June 2016: Michael & I were invited to celebrate the graduation of former students in Xiamen. Michael taught these students as Freshmen and many have kept in touch with us even after we left Xiamen. Congratulations Class of 2016! It was a joy and honor to have been with you to share in your special weekend. For more photos see: chinadollscrapping.weebly.com/xmu-graduation-2016.html
July 2016: It has been very hot here in Hong Kong is we haven't been out much. I did go out early one morning to the Island to Hong Kong Park and enjoyed my time walking through the Avery. The birds were rather cooperative and enjoyed the company that morning. Later in the month Michael went to Yunnan (Dali) then I joined him for the weekend in Kunming to see former students and associates.
August - September 2016: Just photos of our trip to England and Europe can be found at www.chinadollphotos.weebly.com
August/September found us in England and Europe visiting our organization's board and partners.
October 2016: We made our first visit to the far western province of China to visit friends.
November 2016: We were able to go back to one of the cities we lived this month for meetings, but we were also able to see former colleagues at the university we work at.
December 2016: We spent the month at home in Hong Kong preparing for the events in January and February then spent some time just enjoying Christmas services and being at home.
